ZASAVJE NOISEFEST INTERNATIONAL [ZNFI]
International festival of experimental sound and noise

[Organized annually in the month of June (1st weekend: Friday/Saturday) at Vašhava RTH (The Black Room), Trbovlje, SI.]

ZNFI’s focal point is to cover various experimental projects/bands, ranging from the fields of noise, drone, dark industrial/ambient, doom, power electronics and other avantgarde/experimental sonic explorations, and/or the cross-genres of conceptual sound art, including audio-visual art/performance and/or interactive video installations, sound sculpting/body activism or audio-performative intervention - just any type of challenging [non]musical endeavour, connected or supported through other expressive means, presented by the artist/performer.

ZNFI envelopes and takes the name from the whole region called Zasavje (Hrastnik-Trbovlje-Zagorje), Slovenia (EU). The first edition of the festival was organized in June 2014 in Trbovlje at Vašhava RTH.  Vašhava is a part of an old decommissioned building/complex that coal-miners used mainly as a change/shower room. In the future, the intention is to expand the program to the other two towns as well, with the versatile selection of performers and artists, keeping the experimental/noise features within its structural format.

We also collaborate and work with other venues throughout Slovenia, forming and establishing the chain of events around the festival itself, with pre-fest and post-fest dates, expanding the program to other locations.
